That is a whole heap of toy parts for $30.

If only it was a springer (as the cry always goes) I would be very tempted myself.

i think in this case the problem with the gas k98's in the past was a lack of control of the power , not so much a reliability issue , certainly not with the Tanaka's anyway , mostly it was them being too hot for what was wanted of them and these have a working power adjustment system . blowback pistols i will never trust and thing's have to be desperate for me to draw one but my gas Tanaka m10 revolver is flawlessly reliable even if the range is reduced dramatically at freezing point. so i have little fear with this system other than not knowing if i can re load 2 or 3 times with BB's before i re gas but i guess that is something i need to learn , the blurb was that you get 30 shot's per gas charge but i reckon i'll go for 20 to be safe.
i'd be interested in knowing if the bolt is a straight swap with the Tanaka , so if anybody wants to do a little swapping before the game at rise of the tenth to find out it might be interesting.

This all looks fairly promising to me, a useable K98 for a reasonable price would certainly be nice, perhaps we'd even see a few more rifle based German squads rather than the usual Soviet style sub machine gun rushes :)

i really think this is the one , affordable , consistent ,accurate enough out of the box and nice cosmetically.
just did a little testing at room temp and i got 60+ shots off with one gas charge when set to 340 fps , it will drop in cooler outdoor conditions but i feel the advertised 30 shots is an honest minimum figure , i don't think the power adjustment will change thing's that much as the adjustment choke is after the release valve so it will meter out the same amount of gas per shot regardless or at least i think so , i can be wrong however when set to min power at 150 fps you can hear the gas still venting past the choke after the shot has been fired so its still getting the same gas charge as higher power shot's .

I almost regret buying my MP40 now! This one is on the shopping list now. Sadly it will have to wait a while before I can get my paws on one. I'd be much obliged if you could share how well it performs on the field after Rise of the 10th. :D

It will be with me tomorrow but I don't know how much use it will get.
BAR and Garand are my main weapons, but I might take it out for an hour or two. (also have an M1 Paratrooper and an M1 Carbine to test out)

having tried Martins at the rise of the tenth game and saw dadios great link i thought what the ek and ordered one :) , mine did get a little import but not much and saved me £100 om uk price , never used HKM before but they were fast and declared it to help out :)

bit of orange paint on the end to remove but gun is lovely, has the nicest looking wood on a rifle i have had so far :)

have to say most impressive , just need martin to do his thing to make safe for the game in April , so i can go hunt wasterdly allies

just a shame the mags dont fit in k98 pouches-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

Reading all this, I am interested in one as well. Probably need one to join Wladek's game in September anyway :-)
Bootedfeet, wonder if they discount for buying more.

If you wanted to place a bulk order, I'd be on for it.

Well if there is going to be a bulk order I'd certainly be up for it, the MP40 is very nice but there's something very satisfying (and authentic) about working a rifle bolt. :)

one word of warning about khmountain , i asked if they could put mu ukara No on the box , they did not and further they marked it as toy part's $30 , now it came through customs un checked and i paid no tax but i dread to think what would have happened if it had been checked , at the very least a long delay in delivery while they check thing's out , this happened with my German great coat but all that caused was a tax payment and a delay , importing a RIF without the ukara or afra number on the package could be risky .

they put it on mine just above my name and address , which may have been why mine did not slip through as safely as yours , but to be honest £23 paid was pretty good and it got through ok :) and for parcel farce and there customs dept pretty fast , the slowest part was waiting for the damm charges.

ta for the heads up on them as saved me £100 as nearly got in the uk

after a few hundred rounds plinking I've found some wear in the hammer piece on the under side at the rear of the bolt , so far it seems to have had little effect on performance but it is never the less worrying .

i took the precaution of making a steel one up but this is not an option open to many people ,took me over 4 hours so not practical cost wise to get me to make them on mass as i'd have to charge over £50 for them.hopefully it will not be an issue or maybe as G+G did a harder wearing part will be offered as a replacement.

My mags have been charged since I first got the gun and have all retained gas and are working without issue.

I finally got to use mine in a game yesterday, all be it a 'walk on skirmish game'. Set at 305fps using a 0.25g BB, (322 being our site limit with 0.25s) the effective range was actually rather good as was the accuracy. I managed a couple of pretty good kills (if I say so myself) and am very pleased so far. I did need to tweak the hop at the start of the day, but I put that down to the change in temperature, giving me a little rise in fps.

Alas, I only played for an hour or so as I had marshalling duties and other stuff to do but thoroughly enjoyed my first game as a Gerry.

I will keep an eye on the bolt as Dadio has pointed out and may fettle a new part if needed.

I really do like this PPS gun, so much so that I am tempted to get one of their Nagants or possibly their 'modern' boltie too.

good to hear , i reckon the bit that wears could be drilled out and tapped then a steel screw inserted ,locktighted and filed to shape if needed , it also is the pawl for the trigger sear so it could be just filed back without affecting the net throw of the hammer .

ok so she had her first taste of action today and the gun was flawless , a little adjustment of the hop during the day as it bedded in or warmed up but no dig deal as it can be adjusted with a fingernail in the screw head .the only down side was i lost a little spring from one magazine , the spring pushes up a piece at the back of the mag that the hammer hit's to release the gas , i managed to wedge a piece of twig in place and it worked perfectly all day , the other mag's i stuck a piece of chewing gum over the spring to stop them falling out , evidently this is a common fault on the Tanaka's as well . other than that i'd say go ahead and get one , really impressed .
